Product Description
E-Clips, or Type E Retaining Rings, are external retaining rings whose purpose is to stop the movement of an assembly along a shaft. They are installed radially into a machined groove in the shaft, usually just by pressing, so installation does not require special equipment. Their name comes from the fact that the appearance of the E-Clip resembles the written letter “E”. External E-clips are radially installed tapered section retaining rings with three prongs that make constant contact with the bottom of the groove and provide a shoulder for effective retention of assemblies.
Features:
- Phosphate finish is a thin external layer created by chemical application and can serve as a base for paint or oil, provide corrosion resistance, and reduce friction
- Carbon spring steel is high in strength and is known for its ability to resist deformation under stress
