This hanger features patented double shear nailing, which distributes the load through 2 points on each joist nail for greater strength. It also allows for the use of fewer nails, faster installation, and the use of common nails for all connections. 18-gauge galvanized steel. Some double shear joist hangers are available in ZMAX coating.
