• This thin, externally applied layer of zinc provides resistance to corrosion and can give the part a slight tint of color
• Steel is a durable alloy of iron and carbon containing less than 2% carbon and 1% manganese along with small amounts of silicone, phosphorus, sulfur, and oxygen
• These female threads dryseal and are specially designed to form a leak‑free seal without the use of thread sealant
• The seal is created by controlling the truncation at the crest and root to allow for an interference fit, closing the pathway, and preventing spiral leakage
• Taper threads begin at the end of the fitting, taper in toward the shank, and mate onto tapered or parallel threads
